Just to note that since I started this blog on August 11, 2006 that 112 American soldiers (the officially released count) and over 7500 Iraqis have died. I think a few lines from Shakespeare are appropriate here.

And many of our bodies, shall no doubt
Find native graves; upon the which, I trust
Shall witness live in brass of this day's work.
And those that leave their valiant bones [here]
Dying like men, though buried in your dunghills,
They shall be famed; for there the sun shall greet them.

Thank you for mentioning the Iraqi victims. Most American media do not care about Arab lives.

"Most American media do not care about Arab lives."

American foreign policy does not, full stop. If it did, then the US would not be punting the "flypaper strategy" to "fight Al Qaeda" as either a moral or viable strategy.

Samir, you are welcome, and thank you for the nice comment. I would say most American citizens care deeply about Arab lives. The media has not always reflected our opinions or empathy. My students have become more aware of amount of Iraqis who are suffering and dying through their research, and many have indicated their dismay.
